Dr. John Hill grew up in Cedar Hill, TX with dogs, cats, and cattle as well as an interest in science. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Microbiology in 1993. He attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University where he met his future wife, Mindy, as a lab partner in Gross Anatomy. After receiving a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Magna Cum Laude in 1997, he and Dr. Mindy Hill moved back to the Metroplex. Dr. John Hill was in general practice for 3 years before entering emergency medicine in 2001. He practiced 11 years in the field with the last year as medical director of a 24 hour emergency hospital before acquiring Timberline Veterinary Hospital. His professional interests include surgery and dentistry. In his spare time, Dr. John enjoys running, cooking, native gardening, and spending time with his family, including daughter Rachel, son James, Gurney (Australian Shepherd mix), Suzie Q (Dachshund), and Julius (orange domestic longhair cat).
Dr. Melinda Hill spent the early part of her childhood living on a farm in rural Ohio, enjoying the company of dogs, cats, milk cows, goats, ponies and horses. Her family later moved to McAllen, TX, where she graduated from McAllen Memorial High School. She graduated from Baylor University Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Music Degree in French horn performance in 1992. She attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University, where she met Dr. John and was married in College Station in 1996. She graduated in 1997 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Magna Cum Laude, and together with Dr. John, Rowdy (their Abyssinian cat), and Gretchen (their long haired Dachshund), moved to the Metroplex. She practiced in an equine/small animal hospital for a year, before moving to Grapevine, where she enjoyed small animal general practice in several area hospitals, serving as a relief doctor after children Rachel (born in 2001) and James (born in 2003) were born. She sings and continues to play French horn for church occasions, enjoys running, and riding horses.
Diane Karl is the Office Manager at Timberline Veterinary Hospital. She has been with this hospital since 2005. Prior to that she was in the human side of medicine for 15 years. She lives with her husband and their dog Ray. She enjoys gardening, cooking, reading and spending time at the lake.
Kathy Arnold is the Receptionist and has been in the veterinary medical field for 30 plus years. She has been at Timberline Veterinary Hospital since 2003. She lives with her cat Tony and enjoys reading, music and needlecrafts.
Chrissy is a veterinary technician who has been at Timberline Veterinary Hospital since 2009. She has been in the veterinary field since 2003 in many interesting locations including Guam. She has 3 senior dogs, Roscoe, Cinnamon and Shiloh, and has recently adopted a new puppy named Petey. In her spare time she enjoys traveling and golf.
Nick has been a kennel technician since March 2012. He was born and raised in Arlington, TX. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated in 2010 with a B.S. degree in Biomedical Sciences. Nick has plans to attend veterinary school and has hopes of admittance later this year. He enjoys learning from all of the invaluable experience at the clinic in the meantime. In his spare time he enjoys playing ice hockey and an occasional round of golf, and anything else that keeps him active physically and mentally. His only pet at the moment is a one-eyed hedgehog, but he is always happy to socialize with our wonderful dog and cat patients.
